LCC Forums

It has been really encouraging to meet many of you at recent LCC Forums around the state. I have appreciated the honest feedback and the passion with which so many LCC volunteers serve their school Chaplaincy Service.2014 Bus Tour_Rickmond_IMG_0011

I am happy to let you know that all our Regional Managers and Field Development Managers are settled in to their new roles and busy supporting schools, LCC’s and chaplains. Chaplaincy Week has seen an array of events from dinners, to Ks4Kids and Spin off events, as communities rally to support their chaplains.

Some LCCs have been asking about finances. The NSCP and State grant monies are dispersed evenly throughout the year on a fortnightly basis.  Every LCC needs to have a balance equivalent to 3 months costs for salary and expenses (after grant funds have been distributed). We have a very easy to use budget tool on OurChaplaincy which each LCC needs to complete. This is a great help in showing the financial capacity of the LCC and what funds need to be raised. In future LCC Forums, Field Development Managers will be providing training to help LCC chairs and treasurers with their budgets. Field Development Managers will let you know local dates and venues of these forums.

We have created a ‘Join your LCC’ flyer for you to use to help define the various roles within an LCC. The next LCC Forum will be based on this flyer. Helping to grow and strengthen our LCCs is an important goal for our whole team.

As mentioned in recent Forums, we are on a continual process to improve our support services to LCCs. As always you can email support@suqld.org.au or phone 3112 6073 at any time if you have any questions about the financial management or any of the operational concerns of your LCC. We are always happy to provide one on one support.
